The Situation

The main hall and basketball court at Palm Beach - a highly popular, Queensland Government-owned public asset - was in need of a comprehensive re-roofing upgrade. To safely manage the high-ceiling logistics, we utilised a tailored access solution combining scaffolding, Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs), and a crane to precisely lift the long roof sheets into place.

Our comprehensive scope of work included:

• Carefully stripping and removing the existing, worn roof mesh and old insulation.

• Supplying and installing 80 lineal metres (LM) of new structural roof purlins to reinforce the roof frame.

• Installing brand-new, high-strength roof safe mesh across the structure.

• Laying premium 60mm foil-faced roof insulation directly under the new sheeting for exceptional thermal and acoustic efficiency.

• Re-roofing the main hall using high-grade Colorbond Ultra Custom Orb 0.48 BMT sheeting, specifically engineered for coastal environments.

• Installing a complete water management system, including brand-new gutters, high-flow rainwater heads, and commercial downpipes.
